I have loved Real Estate since I was very young. It could be because my family moved a lot (at least 14 times before I turned 18) so we were always house hunting and setting up house in a new location. I scoured the Real Estate circulars in the paper every Sunday and once searching went online I had EVERY app on my phone. During my 20's I would go to open houses and tour model homes, just for fun! Even with such a deep interest in Real Estate, I didn't consider it as a career path until after college and working in Marketing for a few years. I discovered that corporate office life was not for me. I wanted more autonomy in my career and more live/work balance in my life. I really wanted to get into Real Estate at that time, but didn't have any personal connections or guidance. (And, frankly, I was intimidated by agents. Ha!) The guidance I did have surrounding me was in Hairdressing (another thing I always dabbled in). I was dating a guy whose Mother, Sister, Grandmother, and Aunt were all Hairdressers. The joke was that I had to get my Cosmetology license for him to marry me (I did, and he did! We've been married for almost 20 years now). I had a very successful Hairdressing career for 20 years. In that time, I had many Realtor clients. We would spend every appointment discussing Real Estate. I was encouraged by a few of them to get my license, so I did! I was licensed in February 2020, just before Covid and it has been a wild ride ever since!
